I was perusing Facebook and decided to visit Good Morning America's FB page, they are one of my favorites, their most current status placed the spotlight on a Bridal Gown Store in Chicago that burned down. The question posed was "What would you do as a Bride if the Bridal Gown Store that you have purchased your Wedding Dress from burns down?" Apparently GMA will be featuring a story tomorrow morning on this subject. Now many times throughout planning for that big day many Brides and Wedding Planners too, don't think about the possibilities of something like this happening, nor do they consider the need for Wedding Insurance. <br /> <br /> My first encounter or knowledge that such exist has been through my Wedding Planner Certification Class by American Academy of Wedding Professionals. Have you ever thought about, God forbid the Wedding is called off or the possibility of a family emergency that impacts the ability to go through with the Wedding at the time planned? No you probably haven't, as most us see this day only about the fairytale we have dreamed minus any interruptions. The wise and responsible thing to purchase during planning is Wedding Insurance. This way you can recover from most interruptions that could impact your pocket. Let's face it, the expenses for a Wedding are costly, and protection of your wallet should be a high priority. <br /> <br /> I am definitely interested in knowing the advice that will be provided on tomorrow mornings show on GMA. New Adventures Part 2

Hey People!!! So guess, what I have done?? I have signed up for various cooking competitions. Primarily dessert focused along with a few entree contest. The most recent one is the Real Women of Philadelphia. My good friend, Alonda's mother Ms. Cynthia, was a finalist in the original competition. After watching her I became inspired. So I decided to sign up. I submitted my very first recipe tonight. I can't wait to see the results. Now you know that cooking was not the only excitement, but presentation too. The dessert I made is called Shelley's Pistachio & Cream Cheese Holiday Parfait. Just in time for the Holidays. You know how the Holidays and eating goes hand and hand. Especially desserts.... Saving for Special Events Annual Conference in January, so that I can test for NACE certification. I am still working my regular 9-5. I decided to hold off on my brochure design until my blog design is complete this month by April Showers Blog Design. Cake Carousel a local infamous bakery in the Dallas/Ft Worth area specializes not only in cake designing, but provides numerous certified cake, cupcake, and cookie decorating and preparation classes. The classes are very reasonably priced. And just think of the knowledge I will have upon completion. Wish me luck!!!

Great News

I am excited. I have some good news coming in reference to an interview of a Veteran Event Planner, that definitely keeps it real. This interview and article will debut on The Queendom once it is back live. I will definitely keep everyone posted when the article goes live. Next I am learning so much from the Wedding Planner Certification Course. Everyday is a new learning experience for me. Thirdly, tomorrow I will participating in a Graphic Design class taught by April of April Showers Blog Design. This class will advise me on how I can create my business logo myself finally. I am also working to revamp an organization that I am apart of logo. So here I go. Lastly, Thursday will be my first born, Jasmine's 15th Birthday!! How quickly children grow up. I was just telling her earlier this week that I wish she was still a little girl. Of course she is not at all interested at going back to being my little girl, so independent. Happy Birthday Princess Jasmine!!! Mommy loves you and no matter how old or big you get you will always be Mommy's little girl in my eyes.

New Adventures

I have decided to expand my knowledge and horizon by developing my baking techniques to meet professional expectations. I figure planning, decorating, baking, and organizing go hand in hand. I love all of these ways to demonstrate creativity. I was just thinking the other day, if Martha Stewart can do, so can I. So my goals include multitasking. I am so excited and I look forward to sharing with my readers how things go with the evolution of JasiChan on a broader level. I spent Labor Day shopping for supplies to prepare me. I have also finally, officially enrolled in the American Academy of Wedding Professional certification course, next stop is enrolling in the floral designing classes. I told you 2010 would be filled with the elevation of JCEP&D, and I meant that. I am so hopeful for 2011 and what it will bring to JCEP&D, the sky has no limits. Making Diaper Cakes

So, I am so intrigued with the diaper cakes. Such a creative way to present a gift that also serve as decor for a Baby Shower. I am practicing on creating my very first one. Making the decision of what Bridal Gown you will wear is not as simple as one may think. For the Bride to be, it is one the most important decisions to make. You have various elements to consider, such as, the time of year the wedding is being held, indoor or outdoor wedding, strapless, sleeveless, a-line, goddess, ball gown, or blinged out. All of these things have to be balanced with your budget. In this day in age designers even vary from <strong><em>Vera Wang</em></strong> to <strong><em>Vivienne Westwood</em></strong> (infamous for Carrie's Gown in Sex in the City Movie 2008). Knowing that you have such a variety to choose from, I must remind you being the Planner, your BUDGET should be in the forefront of your mind while shopping. "Saying YES to the Dress", without having an idea of how much you can spend, could be one of the biggest disasters. There is no worse feeling than having your mind and hopes set on a Fabulous <strong><em>Amsale Bridal Gown</em></strong> to discover that you are unable to afford it.<br />  I was watching TLC a couple of weekends ago. The Network has a show entitled <strong><em>"Say Yes to the Dress"</em></strong>. This show centers around Brides to be from all over the World searching for their <em>dream</em> Wedding Gown. The store that is featured in the reality show is Kleinfeld Bridal in New York, famous for it's large inventory of designer Wedding Gowns. Bride after Bride along with Consultants in tow tried on dress after dress. One common reaction from each Bride, Mother of the Bride, and even the Bridal Consultants were tears of joy. That is how important the selection is to a Bride. If you really think about it, all little girls want to be Cinderella or for that matter any of the Disney Princesses. Why do we?? The beautiful dresses they wear. The magic that seems to appear when they wear the gorgeous Gowns. That is the feeling a Bride has when selecting her dress for one of the  most memorable events in her life.<br /> So, when he proposes....And you say, "YES"! Creative Summer Birthday Party Ideas.

This past Tuesday, our family celebrated my now 10 year old son, Chandler's birthday. Though I had originally planned to do a Ben10 themed party, a change of plan was enforced, so I moved quickly to come up with another party idea. My son being the natural athlete, we had a sports themed party. While on my shopping spree of purchasing inventory for JCEP&D on the Saturday before Chan's Birthday, I located some party popcorn bags. I thought what a good idea to have foods traditionally eaten at Sporting Events. Hot dogs, variety of chips, assortment of cookies, popcorn, juice, ice cream, and pizza. These are also some of the favorites for kids.<br /> <br /> The cake was decorated with the sports theme. I also located some baskets to hold and display the variety of chip bags and the popcorn. This idea became two-fold, because it also played apart in the decor. You don't necessarily need props or decor that is obvious. Just use your imagination. I typically get into a zone and one thing leads to another. Like you have heard from me before it's the simple things, that make the difference.
